Teacher Training Programme

The newly graduated Teachers chatting to the Minister

In accordance with the directive from HE Hussain Al Hammadi, UAE Minister for Education and in line with the UAE’s 2021 Vision to continue to develop a first-rate education system in which teachers provide first-class learning using the latest teaching methods, a Teacher Training Programme has been developed. Its aim is to qualify Emirati university graduates, as well as graduates from other countries, to teach in the school system. While university graduates are conversant in their subject, further training is needed in order to utilise their knowledge to become competent teachers and educators.

The accreditation of this programme aligns with the UAE National Occupational Skills Standards for Teaching. The course, open to graduates who have successfully passed a subject specific, literacy and numeracy test, is a combination of ‘in class’ learning and practical application in a school setting (school placement).
